A specialist in “industrial-luxury,” designer Magnus Pettersen used the inspiration of glass and concrete in modern architecture to create the Leimu table lamp. The combination of the mouth blown glass ‘shade’ and the concrete base creates a streamlined design that emphasizes the beauty of both materials. With its smooth yet handmade feel, Leimu brings an elegant point of interest to any space. Leimu has been highly praised across the design spectrum, having received the iF Gold Design Award in 2014.

Magnus Pettersen

Designer Magnus Pettersen’s Leimu was inspired by modern architecture, specifically the combination of concrete and glass. Pettersen wanted a beautiful interplay of warm and cold elements in what Pettersen called “industrial luxury.” The largest Leimu lamp makes a striking impression. Created to resemble a flame, the streamlined design features a delicate mouthblown glass shade and a solid, concrete base. Achieving the right balance between concrete and glass required the best experts at the Iittala Glass Factory. Smooth to the touch, the handmade Leimu lamp reflects a soft, gentle light that warms any interior. Grey adds casual sophistication. A modern classic. Winner of the prestigious iF design award.

Since 1881, Iittala has been dedicated to inspiring better living.
