Tove Jansson’s beloved character, the mischievous Little My, gets a new character set in the Arabia Moomin Classics collection. The illustrations of the Little My bowl are based on Tove and Lars Jansson’s comic strip story Moomin and the Comet, which was published in English in 1958. In the story behind the illustrations for the Little My bowl, a comet is drawing closer to Moominvalley. When the inhabitants of Moominvalley suddenly flee their homes, Little My, Moomintroll, and Snorkmaiden set out to investigate the matter. True to her nature, Little My is not too worried about the approaching comet. She lies down in a meadow to stare at it. The bowl has a timeless shape and design. Arabia ‘MOOMIN’ – Krús (RELAXING)

Tove Jansson’s lifework and the Moomin stories are hard to imagine without the presence of the sea. Nowadays the Baltic Sea is one of the most polluted seas in the world. Moomin Characters, together with the John Nurminen foundation, have raised awareness on this issue with the #OURSEA campaign. The campaign is used to spread information on different ways to help Baltic Sea. The aim is to raise one million euros to help clean and protect the Baltic Sea and its unique cultural heritage.

Arabia ‘MOOMIN’ – Skeið 2021 (TOOTICKY)

Hackman’s Moomin spoons are manufactured from stainless steel and are dishwasher safe. The illustrations are based on Tove Jansson’s original drawings, which were fitted into Hackman’s cutlery by Tove Slotte. The coffee spoons are approximately 13cm. The long spoons and the tablespoons are approximately 17cm long.

Arabia ‘MOOMIN’ – Diskur (19cm-TRUE TO ITS ORIGINS)

The ‘True to its origins’ Moomin plate was launched in the Fall of 2017. This plate is part of a series of porcelain products that reflect Tove Jansson’s own journey through life. She wrote her last Moomin book late in November, shortly after her mother died. During this time, she withdrew from public life to deal with her grief, whilst experiencing difficult feelings of loss and sorrow. True to its origins is a reflection of this period in Tove Jansson’s life.
